Description
Did a fourteen-hour plus test rendering using Bryce 5 w. a volumetric cloud slab, premiere effects rendering set to true ambience. My intention was to present the raw picture rendered by Bryce but according to the TOS, I had to reduce it in size somewhat and save it as a GIF-file, which means 256 colors... any good tips on filesize reducing ? The Mk Vb Spitfire model is purchased from Cacheforce.

Nice render ! Looks fantastic !

Great pic! Convert it to .jpg instead of .gif- it handles photos much more effiiciently.

Excellent atmosphere..!!! so cool love it.!!!!

I'm surprised it was over 512 as a jpeg. Shame, cause the JPEG would show it off much better. It's a great image in any case. Well done.

I think it's an awesome render, but in my opinion you didn't need to render it with True Ambience and any premium settings. TA probably wouldn't do much in this case, and it doesn't work well with volumetrics... Still, the clouds look great!
Halt
Nice work I agree with shadowdragonlord You don't gain much with the premium settings as they are currently implemented in Bryce. Open it in Photoshop, then use the save to web option then play with the size (by percentages) and jpeg quality slider till you get an acceptable pic to post at the requisite 512 KB 15 hour renders are unacceptable! maybe a few low intensity radial lights in the volume slab ??

shadowdragolord & Halt : Thanks for your comments, didnt know TA & volumetrics don't work together so well... will try the radial light trick ! I completely agree with Halt : over 14 hrs to render really SUCKS. Btw, rendered on a P4 2 GHz platform w. 512MB RAM, ATI 7000-series display driver... should I update ?
