Description
Thought I'd try my hand at painting clothing and hair.
Wakazashi modeled in Carrara, Figure in poser, rendered in Bryce.
Clothing and hair painted in Painter Classic and Adobe Photoshop LE.
Since this was pretty much my first real try at this, PLEASE give me some constructive criticizm on the hair and/or clothing. Thanks!

Very nice lj. Looks like you put a lot of work in on this. Great render!

the pose is good so far - but the hand is not grasping enough - and a swordfighting persons mostly looks at it's target (e.g. where the sword is ...) - maybe I would spread the left hand a little bit more ... - but don't worry the image is pretty so far :o)

You are definitely off to a nice start. Where I would start with more work is getting more contrast in the clothing... more shadows, more highlights. Take a look at where your light is coming from and add darker shadows accordingly; that will help add depth. Also, given the pose, I would think the addition of a few stress folds pulling the cloth across the armpit area might help. As far as the hair, it looks like her hairline might be a bit low... a bit of a softer transition might be something to consider, too. Overall, a good work... looking forward to seeing your next one.
