Here are Chuck's personal words to the community:
I am a self-taught artist, formerly working in traditional or conventional media. For the last two years I have been experimenting with CG (Computer Graphics), and trying to transition from traditional/conventional media to digital imaging. In a few words, I simply love art and always have. Many of my images are "post-worked" by hand, re-scanned and manipulated in Photoshop. On occasion, I still use pencil, Prismacolor, Silverpoint, Pen & Ink or painting to achieve the desired effect. Whether executed the "old way" or the "new way" or a combination of both, which I often fall back on.
Art is art and it is the end result that is (hopefully) appreciated.

doubletake... yep, it's yours! :D sometimes life is vacant of color, to create a mood & emphasis... is this a photo from which you started? has a sombre, quiet, abandoned feel to it... but then one looks twice... there are ghosts here... like the pov & perspective... a rendezvous perhaps :]

This new direction is very interesting - quite like the sense of this and the image is altogether great. Well done.

This image has evoked a feeling of disquiet in my soul for which I cannot account...I am in awe and drawn to stare..."true art has the ability to disturb"...thank you for sharing your incredible talents!

Wow, what a change in style!! This is like a dream, a bit scary even, but so very well done. I love the abandoned place where only ghosts reside, the mood is mystic and dark, excellent work!!

Imaginative piece here... Did the door close on him as footsteps walked away and he shouted into the night...? Is he to be locked in here overnight... ? perhaps with no W.C.? Or is 'he' an angel or a demon unable to prevent or cause an odious crime? EXCELLENT MOOD & SHADOWPLAY!

I'm left feeling like I made a big mistake, that I want to roll back time and do it all again, Fantastic atmosphere and mood, WOW!

Nice - but I did have to doublecheck to be sure it really was the right artist I'd been headed for... the name -- and then the frame... Yes, right one (ha). I also missed the female figure the first glance, instead focusing on the distant male figure in the center... It is neat to have her coming out of the wall on the left as those who do miss her will usually have their eye travel on across to the right before crossing back for a final look -- spotting her at that point like a ghost coming out of the wall! Good effect, that. Almost as if the picture changed in front of your eyes. Bravo.

Ghostly and nostalgic. This pic speaks to me of loves lost and sweet romances remembered. Stunning mood! Chuck, you've outdone yourself!

A feeling of decay and loss is very well felt in this piece, a left over vision of what was. Love the sepia tones. Eccelent Lina

amazing idea... ! and like bev said - it's a bit different - just "one" brilliant tonal range - but the mood here is extraordinary... very melancholic - a very little bit spooky (for me at least)... but also quiet...
vlaaitje
wonderful mood, and a perfect creation...I like all your work...the woman in the wall, the lighting, all is so perfect
a-blue--angel
somehow the magic which is influencing your works, is so much more effective in this photographic piece...and I still consider it sort of 'goth' ... please: more, more, more!
