Aptly titled. I like the feeling of motion on the cat vs. the brick wall. Interesting catch.

A photo that asks many questions ... who painted the wall? What was the motivation to paint this? Does the Lion represent something? Was this an actually lion ... a pet ... a denizen of the jungle ... a symbol of empire? The questions go on and on but cannot be absolutely known. That is good ... to recognize that everything is a mystery is to assign life its value. Excellent work.

Thank you all for the kind words. I have to respond to monoceroo because I strongly agree with his remark about life. I hesitate to explain my work because I believe that an image has a life of it's own. Glad you're enjoying this one.

By creating images, then, one seems to bring another life into being, a life that seems to reach out and communicate with the viewer. Images open up a discourse on a level other than the verbal, an older and more deeply felt level that goes back deep into what humans were before they became human. Before speech and writing, images were the tools of communication and the old methods of putting images together still resonate in the forgotten part of our mind today. Its good when an artist's work can consistently call upon this ancient meaning to inform a modern creation.

Usually the bricks are so smoothe and uniform this one I really like because the bricks are so unruly really offsets the Lion! Very cool! :P
