Description
Well this is not easy as it looks. I handdraw spline for about half an hour till i get it right. Damn thing just wont bend. Then i spend another 15 mins correcting extrude errors, and lighting was a terrifingly hard job, and all that for this average pic, i am so disapointed in my abilities right now.

you know what, I found a tutorial for a paper clip, and I STILL can't get it right . . . Lightwave is a difficult program to master, so don't get discouraged too easily, you'll get it :)

Average looking? I don't think so. To get a photographer to make the same pic would require the same amount of effort and a great deal of gear or know-how. The purists would prob'ly say you need to add a bit of texture to the metal for true realism. This pic shows attention to detail and an unwillingness to say "good enough". You might get more hits if you give the paper clip breasts but I like it as it is.

You shouldnt doubt your abilities my friend. I have just stopped work to look at an eye catching image, a paperclip! It takes talent to make this interesting and you have, trust me. you show more talent with every render. keep it up!

MITrAndir your doing well. Ive been experimenting in lightwave for 5 years now and i STILL have a lot to learn. Rail extrude/spline drawing is difficult. I think you've done a fine job :)

The simplicity of this image really makes it stand out. I'm very curious on your spline modeling technique for doing this... perhaps the difficult is in the selected method of modeling? No fault of the modeler, of course. :o)
