Ok, bear with me here, this is more than I usually have to say! I had just today been reminded by my sister that I had forgotten my mother's birthday! (What do you expect from someone who forgets his OWN birthday....and that's NOT a joke) So I called to wish her a happy birthday, and as soon as she hung up the phone, I instantly thought of this image (a sketch I just started) and realized that I did it just last night, which was her birthday! I am not one to do things spur-of-the-moment, not do I usually put much stock in coincidence, but something struck me that a sketch having little to no resemblance to my mother could still remind me so much of her! It struck me as being profound for some reason! And so, as a late and unexpected Happy Birthday, this is to mom, who is going to Hawaii tonite, so she will not see this for a bit....but still!! Happy Birthday Mom, I love you more than I will ever be able to express!
