Description

I just thought I'd share another of my talents :) these are some of my favorite characters from comic books. I started sculpting about 5 years ago, I haven't done anything since I started placing items in the market place though. I read an article on Randy Bowen, in it he listed the materials he used. So, I went to the art supply store and picked up the stuff I needed. Since that time I created 11 figures, each one more detailed and better than the last. average time per figure was about 80 hours..... very exhausting! :) I'm quite proud of them and hope to get back to it again. I hop[e you've enjoyed viewing them .... & no I'm not selling them :) LOL :) regards, brett barrett

Brett, I'm now going to have to go look at your gallery to see the work that you "regularly" do. If these are any indication, I'm in for a treat. Very nice job, with great attention to detail! I can definitely see why you wanted to share them.

thanks for your kind words lorraine, the Sculptures are made of SuperSculpey Available at most art supply stores. They also have a aluminum wire armature as a base to place the sculpey on, the wire is fitted into holes drilled into a wood base - then superglued. the paint is Hobby Acrylics ( water based) I'm glad everyone who left a comment enjoyed viewing these :)

If you can draw it in three views ( front, Side, & Back ) you can sculpt it. Most people can only sculpt what they can draw. Give it a shot and be persistant. It's fun :)

Simply awesome works. I really like Lucien figure, it is classical sculpting at it's best. BTW: is the supersculpey an air dried clay or the type that needs to be baked?
