Description

Today I realized that I suck. Yup. I have no imagination, no inspiration, I'm clueless when it comes to so-called "art." These days I have such a hard time coming up with anything to work on/render, it's really depressing. More often than not, the only reason why I am able to post anything is thanks to wonderful artists who create awesome products (thanks Helmut, Jessie, and Giana.) If it wasn't for them, I would be a creative mental midget. However, and this is the scary part, even with such wonderful products, I still have a very hard time coming up with something that hasn't already been done over and over again. I can't find my own style. I can't find a shred of originality within me. Do I give up creating or do I just keep plowing ahead believing that someday I'll find my own way, my own style? **sigh** Thanks for putting up with me during this one minute of your day ;o)

Oh no, no, no! You cannot talk like that! Now you could be ME (cause I feel the way you feel every single day!)and I have never had an image look like yours do! I spend 12 to 14 hours a day trying to find some talent that I swear is born in you and I swear I don't have, but I want so bad I can't stand it! What do I want?? To be as good at this as you are! Goodness child... Give yourself a pat on the back! You do NOT suck! :) BTW, this image is awesome! Sending happy thoughts your way!

This is really fantastic! Don't think that just because you use other's products that somehowyou don't have talent! It's what you do with it that counts. I've taken a look at your gallery, and I think you do great work!

I have the same problem so don't feel alone! I'm tired of explaining to family and friends that 'No I didn't create the Figure, texture, prop, ect, but I put them together...'! Anyway Great Pic and thanks for sharing your feelings, I thought I was the only one! LOL

Well this is one heck of a fine piece, I believe we all have this problem,I sure do and it sucks. My suggestion is work on technique in a genre you enjoy and just wait till inspiration hits, ala, seeing a piece, reading something, could come from anywhere, but mainly just keep on keeping on.

I think the key to being your own artist is finding a style and genre that you can appreciate and emulate without copying. Since I'm married to a woman who can paint everything, it used to bother me that I couldn't until I realized that her style was not my style. Perhaps the best thing to do is take a step back, not make any art and not force the issue. Go back through your past works and focus on the ones that you feel the most satisfied with and then start paring down all of the applications and props on your drives that you won't be needing. Remember, when you're not inspired, don't force it as this will only create unhappiness. Make art when you want to and your own style will come through.

Nathalie, you have two young children and a full time job....the moments you have for art, you must be harried and worn out...yet you keep on. ART is in your heart and that's what counts the most. You have the talent and the burning desire, just not the time and energy to do what you want, and it's so frustrating. I've been there and done that (for about thirty years...LOL), so I know what you're feeling. Now, this is just lovely and artistic and real. Anyone who can do this is an artist. I love Helmut's armor and the way she's proudly sitting on the horse with the wind whipping her hair. You sure aced that and gave a "feel" to the painting, too. I almost said image, but this does have such a fantasy painting feel that I left it at "painting". Don't be discouraged and most of all don't give up your dreams. YOu've got it girl and you just keep getting better and better. Remember, I saw some of your first ones and know how far you've come with this. YOu have many admirers, so don't disappoint us by even thinking of quitting, okay? Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!

First off the render: Excellet work, the woman is gorgeous and the horse is majestic! Her hair is well crafted. Secondly: I sometimes have the same problems as far as ideas on what to render. Take a look at my gallery if you want to see a hodge podge of different ideas! Listen to weird music, check out the art works of some of the more reknowned fantasy artists, like Luis Royo or Vallejo and just create whatever weird idea pops in your head. Art comes from the soul and the best way to creat something is to not try so hard. Just do it. :) Good luck.

Hahah yep, I have this problem too! I so rarely get inspired for something that is really art... when I do it's usually 2D, so I haven't got anything of that sort posted here. I just do alot of the same kind of stuff everyone else does, because what I am doing is just having fun and practicing. Every image is a new technique I'm trying out or honing. Don't worry about every piece of work being a masterpiece that makes people wonder what was in your mind when you made it, or worry about how much others will like it... if you didn't enjoy making it then it was a waste of time. Just do it because it's what you love to do, and the masterpieces will come in their time. ^_^ ............. As for this image I think it is great, I espeically like the girl's face and expression, she looks unique and beautiful, and the flow of her hair is perfect. Keep up the good work and have fun!!

I can't believe I ever missed this... I'm sorry!! I think linwhite said it... you've got small children and a full time job. It's hard enough at times to be inspired to paint or render when it's just you, but factor in those things and you've got it a little tougher than most. You underplay your talent, Nathalie, because you are an incredible artist, and you inspire us all every day.
