Description

Now this is probably the most difficult photograph I've ever taken. I had this dream of shooting some flying insect because I've seen almost nobody ever do that (and now I understand why). The problems connected with this shot are: - you need a volontary insect willing to come and go for some time to give you the chance of adjusting your aim and settings - you need a fast shutter speed to freeze the moment - you need a small aperture to increase the chance of have it in focus when he'll come - you need to increase your iso speed to have more sensibility because you just decreased so much light, and doing that you're going to have rumor in your picture so - you need a good sensor like the one in my EOS300D. - you need some time (in my case this was achieved after one hour and a half, but if you're lucky maybe you'll do better than this) As always you'll have to find a good compromise for that. My settings for this shot were: iso 400 f 13 shutter 1/800 This is a 100% crop, colors were slightly altered because... well I like it that way. :) Let me know if you like it!

Well and truly worth your wait. May I ask if I am right in assuming that this was not done with a digital camera, rather an SLR?? I am not sure how would I be able to captures such a great shot using my digital.
