I created this for a girl who is very special to me. The gargoyle symbolizes the guardian of the key to my heart, hence the title. Everything was created in Max, except for the background and the cloud effects. The gargoyle and key were created using basic box modeling techiques. The castle and moon are just standard primatives. The scene was rendered using VRay with hdri maps (I'm still new at this technique, so any pointers would be appreciated). Post for the glow and clouds was done in Combustion. Any comments would be appreciated, especially constructive crit. Cheers!
