Description

Any time I return home to my parents, about three times a year, I try to take some memories with me, memories from my birth house and my childhood. This time those little statuettes got my attention. My mother took them with her when leaving Venezuela decades ago to come back to Austria, where she escaped from second worldwar when she was only five years old. Well, I took this group, looked into their eyes and created this scenery on the fly. I have to say, they were very helpful and patient with me ;o) Fujifilm FinePix S7000. 4.5, 1/400s, ISO 200, FL 58mm. Tripod and closeup filter with macro. Kindly regards from Austria, Ikarius.

What a touching story! And a perfectly captured image. It must have been so frightening for a child to leave her home that way, and to go so very far away! Excellent job with this! V
