Somehow, the mood and terrain of this shot, reminds me of a short fantasy 'DARK BORDER' series by Paul Edwin Zimmer, back in the early 1980s. If I remember there were towers, built on the dark enemy's land, by the forces of good, using stones mixed with the blood and bones of the fallen good.
