Description

this week the UK lost its most loved and enduring 'alternative' DJ...there is now a similar hole in thousands of people's lives, not just here, but all over the world...testimony enough to a single-minded and essentially wonderful human being... also for everyone else that spent years sitting by the pause button... :) pic taken in 93...my beloved Fender Precision Bass (at the time, covered mainly in Garbage Pail Kid stickers)... 6 years later it would be part of a John Peel Session recorded at BBC Maida Vale Studios...

His importance for British pop music cannot be overestimated. He now joined George Harrison, John Lennon, Sandy Denny, Steve Marriott, Ronny "plonk" Lane, Keith Moon, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrisson, John Bonham, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, and many others. May he be remebered! Good tribute!

Absolutely brillaint Yes a legend never to be seen again I spent many hours listening to his dulcet tones.. He would always find time to discover new music and was a very unassuming man Maybe an hour of not so great music was always followed somewhere by the best thing you ever heard!!
