Description

Cemetery's Towering monolith tombstones Where the dead spend their night For those who have reached and found Eternal rest... Where at night The sky is a pearl of stars And the moon inudates the world By a silver light The trees are silent As they too sense the sadness Where the strong and weak are both equal through a veil of tears Where there is only silence Eternal rest~ Resting in the shadows of time No more pain, nor sorrow They have reached and found rest... For they are dead...You are alive And it is no occasion for tears Just eternal quiescent rest~ Rows and rows of tombstones shine Luminously under the glow of full moon Over the many graves All of those lives once lived Now lost from our world For after all their journeys on earth Laying my hand on one headstone One out of many... The wind picks up with a slight breeze As if to warn me it's time to part These sepulchral hills Among crosses and marble angels~ Shadows and sunshine Petals and tears Eulogies and regets As souls their rest For they are home In the scenic cemtery~ ( This is an older poem from another site I belong too, I thought if sort of fitting for All Hallow's Eve) Happy Halloween to my friends here on RR All views and comments are appreciated

Death, the great equalizer. I love old cemeteries. I find them peaceful and beautiful, and full of stories. You have captured the mood beautifully.

Since we are eternal, death is but a door to greater life and service to all LIFE. I fear not death, you see, for I have died 4 times in this life and was allowed to come back, so that I may serve any who would listen to the Call of Eternity, the Immortal Life is full of Cosmic Service, and I one of its servants. my best to you always, Lightpen
