Description

Travelling in Burma, I came across this old fashioned oil mill in which they load the oil seeds in the wooden pot and then grind it with ox power. The seeds are crushed and the oil comes out of the spout. I have not seen this type of oil mill for a long time. I wonder whether it is a simpler way of life! The girl who was driving the ox was totally oblivious of me. The picture was taken in colour and then post processed.

Traditions hold fast.... reluctance to change or the inability to afford new technology? In any case, it is wonderful to see that the old way really does still work.... Beautiful shot.
