Description

Still experimenting in "night" scenes. Bryce 5, Dolphins are Standards in Poser 5. Please offer up some help if you can, I learn a great deal from each of you, and I am far from where I wish to go in this medium. Constructive crits welcomed and appreciated! (=

I think you did a fantastic job simulating moonlight! The water is excellent. For a Bryce "nighttime" sky, you also did very well....Bryce skies are a pain in the butt. The cloud reflections over the water are haunting. My only suggestion to this pic would be to perhaps seperate the dolphins a bit more to give them more definition and try to create a small "wake" around them either with post work, or by using a small terrain with a sea foam material applied. (lots of free ones out there). I love the fact that you are working with Bryce, and this is a truly lovely result. Would love to see more of this kind of work from you. Beautiful render.

The Sky is great! The Water even better. So hard to get realistic water in Bryce and you've done just that. But I have to agree with webshadow. The dolphins need to be separated with a bit of wake around them. Perhaps one coming out of the water while the other is going in? Really LOVE that water!!! Definite moonlight on it.

Very gentle and evocative scene, Denise. The arc of the horizon gives a nice sense of depth and scale. I think the other commentors are right about the general lighting and the water being very well done. While the dolphins are posed very gracefully, but the light seems a little stong on them and they could use a bit of separation andsome anti-aliasing to take the jaggies out of the curves. At first I thought it was a black and white (or grayscale) image, but I notice a heavy pooling of blue in the lower right corner. To me, it seems out of sync with the rest of the image. The clouds with the clear skies and stars above them are perfect. I think you've created an excellent and difficult night image which is very appealing!
