As the Animator, he attended the Rainbow Squad tryouts. His ability to bring inanimate objects to life should have made him a respected and valuable member of the team. Unfortunately, he was in a hurry when he left for the tryout and, as result, when it came time for him to demonstrate his powers, all he had brought with him was a little dolly. When animated, the dolly said "Mama", which brought the rest of the applicants, and Rainbow Squad, to their knees in laughter...and the Animator was rejected. Vowing revenge on the team, he donned his now trademark blue leather accessories and renamed himself the TOYminator.
