** Disclaimer* I am not an expert in photoshop and this posting is not meant for the more experienced photographers. I am trying to share a few tips with the less experienced.
Chain link fences can be removed with a few simple techniques: 1. Photograph your subject as far away from the fence as possible, this will cause the fence to become essentially, a filter for your camera. 2. I have tried various types of photoshop techniques to get rid of the fence residue on the image and I have found that the easiest is to use your trace lasso to outline the distorted areas and to increase your contrast until the selected area matches the rest of the image. You may have to decrease your saturation a bit to get a good match.

At close quarters, the wider the aperture the less the fence will show. You could always ask to go in the enclosure :)
