Much better use of textures, especially the table and the hat. The cacti has an odd area by the branchs - haven't actually seen this in a vue object before - perhaps change the scale of the texure for better fit. Also you might try some intermediate hills for added realism. Good luck, but your sticking to it which is important!

How about changing the position of the cacti. Right now they look a little bit like they're growing in lines like at a plantation. The material used on the spurrs looks a little bit like plastic, so add some more reflection and maybe a grainy bumpmap with the strength set to 0.1. I'd also add the same texturemap you used on the spurrs'leatherband as a bumpmap to make the dark pattern look like it's pressed into the leather. Same thing with the wood texture on the planks. In general I'd experiment a little bit with bumpmaps. They can make a big difference. :)
