Description

This is an animal that I have not had any success in photographing. My goal is to shoot a series if I can find this cat at a photo friendly location. Most Zoos tend to keep this animal securely caged! Felis Concolor( Cat of One Color), is also known as a Mountain Lion, Puma, Cougar, Catamount, and Panther. This is a very powerful animal and ranges in size from 75 to 200+ pounds. Recently in the state of California a 110 pound cat killed a full grown man and partially buried him, then attacked and seriously injured a woman before she was rescued by witnesses to the attack. Attacks are rare, but they do occur, especially to children and pets.

They are beautiful, and this is a good shot. I had a late night suprise visit from one (Florida Panther) on my rural property that scared me pretty good not so long ago... fortunately the light scared him more than me, and he ran off.
