Description


The fortress "Festung Hohensalzburg" in Salzburg (Austria) was built at the time of the investiture controversy between the pope and the king about the right to assign bishops.The citadel were build in 1077 to protect Gebhard, Archbishop of Salzburg from the wrath of the king. Photo taken October 2004 with Canon EOS 300 D
