Description

Ok trying a shot at just how complicated a building I can make using 2 bricks, my roof and a "Primitive Cube". The roof, door handle and 2 bricks (1 full size 1 half size) were made in Carrara 3 and exported to poser. The rest of the building is made using a single cube scaled and distorted in poser. I start with a 6 foot by 6 foot cube and scale it the the dimentions I need in poser, for example the large 12 foot planks are y=200%, x=16.667% and z=8.333% this gives a 12 foot by 1 foot by 6 inch board. I then export it as a object file and name it "Plank_12" Change the y to 100% and now it is 6 feet long export again and call it "Plank_6" change the y to 50% export again and call it "Plank_3". Opne all three of these in UV mapper and create a "Box Map" and asign it to a group and material of the same name as the object file. Now wehn reimported into poser I have 3 planks that can be used by moving them to an exact location using the dials. 1 foot wide boards means board 1 = X=1, board 2 = X=2, etc. This allows you to position them exactly so they line up. My entire HoSM set built using this idea. Why go to all this trouble, when ezch board and stone is mapped seperatly you can use texture maps that are 1000x150 or 500x500 or the like and still have highres textures becauce each texture is being used many times insted of a single 2000x2000 texture. The 2000x2000 would be lower res than all the little ones added to gether. So how do you get some viriaty...rotate the boards flip them end-over-end or sided-to-side this causes the textures to lie differently. See you can build using just poser and UV mapper. So ends building in poser 101...lol This Manor is build using wall sections, each section is made and then exported and reimported to lock it together. The walls you see on the second floor are the same as the ones on the first floor. They look one way on one side and the other way on the oppiste side. 2 wall types, 1 model. Using poser you can even create a morph so that the model looks as above in a Locked model (export and import the whole thing) then create 2 morphs so that you can change the top and bottom wall to reverse with a morph dial. I'm working on setting that up right now, basicly you just export the model 2 more times wth the walls the other way around. Credits, Wood textures shot by yesitis3, Anouka Dress on victoria by Sprinter (textures by me). All other textures and items by me.

Guess what all that "yack, yack, yack" and I still forgot to say "No Postwork"...lol and That I did the multi view that yesitis3 liked so much on the log cabin set, and that the stairs inside are still under construction and lastly that it will be a freebie when finished.

Ive had a look at your gallery. You've been very busy. Your models are all very good. They show great care in detail and form. Overall the textures are fantastic (like your roof). However, I think Id like to see a bit more variety on the stone and wooden textures. They seem a bit repetitive at times; thus taking away from the overall realism that the model presents.
