Description
Korean War Veterans Memorial, Washington DC, USA in January 2003.
The day we chose to walk around and see the memorials, it snowed some 5 inches, which just made the trip extra special, and this memorial very stark. I keep the color form of this photograph because it is essentially black and white - very apolitical, but rings very true.
Freedom is not free, and we have to make sacrifices so that not just some are free, but all deserve a chance at freedom. The Korean War Memorial is my favorite of all memorials in Washington DC.
What I like about this photo is just the stark contrast and that the snow bleeds out all distractions from the resounding phrase "freedom is not free" in inlaid silver at the memorial.

strong angle, powerful words, bleak & cold & harmonious reflection :] think a bit off the top would make a stronger composition
