Description
This picture was taken on 07. Nov. 2004 in Barsinghausen, Germany. Northern Lights are not so often to see here. This one is a result of a coronal mass ejaction (sun eruption two days before) of the sun.

A rare and most beautiful display from Mother nature! Yes, quite a lot of solar activity in the last few days. As high as X magnitude solar flares. The northern lights have been seen all around the world and as far south as North Carolina. I have been photographing this phenomenon for over 20 years, and I can tell you that this picture is one of the best! More activity is expected over the next few days. You can learn more and see more pictures at space weather.com. Keep looking up and keep the pictures coming! -R
