Here is the first schematic of the infamous Constitution class refit starship, the aft view. I don't know why they call it refit as this is almost an entirely new ship, but anyway...

Its actually called the Enterprise Class. It was decided that, due to the extensive changes during the refit, she was to be named a new class entirely. They named the new class after the first ship of the class.

Exactly. zenarabird is correct. It was Enterprise class. In fact on the doors of the Kobiashi Maru simulator room on Star Trek 2, behind Kirk and Spock, though blurry, I am sure the sign said Enterprise Class. Then on Star Trek 6, the blueprints said Constitution class. Why I'll never know.
