Description

"He's not heavy, he's my brother." A common thing to see painted on the wall of a Marine Corps barracks. I re-rendered this (no post work) for my brothers in arms on this special day. Happy 229th Birthday Marines! Semper Fidelis!

Why doesnt he have shoes and why not even socks? o_O However... g The grass does not look too good (in fact it strangely looks like a square plane with... hair x_X) and the lighting on the characters does not fit in with the background. It should be much more sunny with diffuse foliage shadows. The posing however is good wirk.

VOID, dead men dont need boots but U.S. Marines never leave the dead or wounded behind. Yes the grass was my first attempt at using the P5 hair room to create grass.

So wait a minute... You mean Marines take the boots off theyr dead comrades, but leave on theyr helmets? Gee... Thats sick. I would just strap off the helmet before even thinking about taking off his boots and even his socks! Who takes of the socks of a dead of wounded?

There are always a few haters out there that have to attemtp to cheapen other peoples work with their sarcasm. Hopefully it makes their meaningless lives a little better for today. Perhaps its not the art they hate, but the content - Marines. Well Im used to plenty of hate for that too.

Don't worry about those few that need to criticize what they don't understand. Who cares if the image isn't "perfect". It's what the image is representing. It's about the story the iamge is telling. Excerpt from the Ranger creed, "I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country." Unless you have ever had another brother's life in your hands, or your life in his, you will NEVER understand the meaning of this image. Nice job, PIXELPUNK. Keep the faith.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. My salute to you and your comrades. Outstanding message that we all need reminding of from time to time. Disappointing that even peers on Renderosity see fit to denegrate others work for no point or reason. One is top in his field - I would have expected him to send an IM to you rather than a public pissing point. Dwayne, USAF RET (21 years from 1957). BTW - plese post somne of your farscape stuff will ya? GRINZ

The meaning of this image is so deep and so sad at the same time. I had been 18 months in the army, far away from my family and the normal life. The army is something very bad but something very good at the same time because it teach you the value of the humain life and the value of freedom. Dead or life, never leave your comrade in war because he s fighting for the same raison as you and he s part of your family, he s your brother... Fortunately I had never get this experience and I will never be the ideal person to describe the feeling of this image but I can understand and I respect your artwork. Very nice picture, and don t care about those who critizes your job. They just can't understand...
