Among overbearing thoughts
Fades possibility
Pain flourishes like a virus
Feeding on sensitivity
Time may heal a wound
But cannot fade a scar
Cut deep into the earth
Stretched beyond far
Like yellow bird that follows down
The miners deep into the ground
I see hand to hand the human chain
Links heart to heart to soothe the pain

Nice poem - I really like the way it finishes and especially the last two lines in the second stanza!
