Description

I just finished this project for a client. I did the product renderings on the box, directed the photoshoot for the images, and did the layouts in Adobe Illustrator for the packages as well. The client manufactures the tools for WeedEater via license. The models were provided from the engineering files, so all I did with those was texture and light them. I took the artwork I created in Illustrator and used the die-lines to fold the boxes (using bones) for making this scene. C4D R8.2 with Radiosity.

Beautiful. Can't see much to improve on, except maybe a little more reflection on the boxes. Great job.

Great job. Color scheme is nice. What's going on on the left where the reflection appears to fall across the tools? is that shadow?

You hit it on the head. That is a reflection. The blades are reflective metal (as is the floor). So they reflect the packaging at this camera angle.

Very cool and clever idea using die-lines and bones to create the boxes. Their product does look like a toy but I really like the package design, excellent work.

Certainly puts me in my place about invention. My father trained some of his students in amateur radio and one of them went to Seattle to work in "packaging." That was the student he had worked longest with and he was very proud of his acomplishments. His mother was a widow and the town librarian. Scope is an important part of success.
