Description

Fairy Tales can be so cruel to the characters that inhabit them. She's a prisoner here, in the Forest of Dreams. Forever she's bound to deliver dreams to sleeping mortals, never allowed one of her own. Her only hope for freedom is the love of a mortal man. He's a prisoner too, the dragonfly who also delivers dreams, and for eternity he'll suffer, for he wasn't born a mortal man, and can never win her love. This project has been in the works for several weeks now. I'm working full time and going to school, so I haven't been able to work on it for more than an hour or two here and there. Most of the elements were sketched and scanned, then colored in Photoshop. Some things, like the flowers and foliage, were done in Photoshop using brushes I made just for that task. I didn't import any textures, and I didn't use anything but Photoshop and too much of my free time on this piece. I'd absolutely love it if people could give me some feedback, as I'm very fond of this piece and would be delighted to improve on it when I've got more time. Thanks for viewing.

I think it is fantastic just the way it is! The depth of field is amazing, the sorrow of her expression, and the longing in the dragonfly's eye, and posture, is evident, very well done! :D

This is the most beautiful fantasy piece of Art I've seen in a VERY long time!!! I'm totally speechless...I keep looking at this and the more I look at it the more I love it!!! This is totally and truly STUNNING!!! My vote big time and my total admiration!!
