fantastic composition...again, I'm very fond of sparrows...and I can just picture them moving around...seeming like they don't want to be photographed...but then bobbing around in frame. I particularly like the half hidden one!

Transport by water and transport by air - the boats have left but the birds still remain.... Very sweet dedication to Sheila, excellent work!

gasp she's for me? Oh Jeroen...eyes watering This is SO special! She's such a sweet, sweet sparrow, and my heart melts the way she sits there looking toward the sun, just soaking in all those warming rays of light. i have so many wonderful memories of sparrows...have spent an incredible amount of time in my life just sitting watching them and other birds. they are so silly and oh so sweet. And mushrooms...well they also hold a special place in my heart! It's a VERY long story, but many years ago i did a bit of research on fungus and found they have the ability to communicate...chemically! This communication is quite real and quite essential for survival. Anyway, when you consider that a mushroom shares the gift of communication, well, one cannot help to be in awe of them! Now this one helluva mushroom, Jeroen!!! It's a gorgeous stool...perfect for my tired legs at night! And it's a magnificent vantage point and place of rest for my sweet birdie! I love its rich rustic colors and the strength this shroom possesses! slurp Now as I ask this, keep in mind i just woke up and am inhaling coffee to make my eyes wider. What's that behind the shroom? is that another bird? the colors and markings suggest it might be another sparrow!! Anyway this is very special to me and i shall treasure it!!! It's absolutely perfect! face turns red that's not a shroom, is it????? ooops. I've been sitting here looking at this image for uh...40 minutes. just finished my coffee. eyes are wider now and i realize those rustic colors are uh...really rust! laughing That's NOT a shroom is it??? OMG...well...it's too late now! I shall always see it that way!!!!!!!! Thanks SO much for this, Jeroen!!! You make me VERY happy!! vote/info favs

LOL...I just KNEW Sheila would react like that...she is SO shy!! haha. What a beautiful dedi, Jeroen. I noticed as Sheila did that the lovely bird sits on a shroom like object. You managed to capture both!! Great job! :0) Jodie

This object the bird is sitting on reminds me of a mushroom. A mushroom made of metal. Perhaps I am just obsessed with mushrooms or I am trying to figure out what that thing is the bird is sitting on. I think it may be a something to tie a boat off since it is near water. Still reminds me of a mushroom. This is another excellent photograph.

Master of the harbor surveys his domain. He stands upon his shroom tower for hours on end every day. Always with a careful eye on the others nearby. You see it's hard to rule the 'roost' and defense of the throne so inportant. Can't you see the pride and determination in his stance.
