very lovely form and colors.. with the Kaleido filter used on it.. it is hard to see that it was originally a flame..

yes, i was a bit unsure about that too ,not sure if i had distorted it too much. but then, it's a bit of a trade off; had i preserved more of the 'this is clearly a flame' part i would lost quite a bit of the 'energy' i see in it.( did try did several renders. i'll post the orginal 'flame' and maybe it is better 'untouched' ?

I really like the rich warm glow to your pentagonal kaleidoscope. Very natural looking star and it looks great against the dark regions of the image !
