Description

Background Photo is a cyber shot capture of the cannons on the Cumberland river at Fort Donelson in Tennessee. It was post worked in PSP 8 and in Adobe Photoshop 7. I used brushes from www.rebelkitty.com (wonderful brushes for psp and photoshop, both!) The soldiers were free stock at a public domain. I don't want my nephew, or my son, or my best friends son, or my cousin, or anyone I know to fight in a war...but if they don't, who will? Your son, my son, your nephew, mine....they are all loved the same. Pray for our boys in foreign lands.

Powerful and wonderful image! I've just been watching some of the Civil War on PBS (again), and this hits right on it. I pray for our troops and hope they get home soon. They are there whether they want to be or not, someone else is always pulling the strings. Terrific work, thanks for the reminder!

wonderful image. if we don't fight against those who would deprive the world of freedom then who will? France? Europe? if we lie down and peacefully accept their rule then we have no freedom. believing in peace and opposing war and violence is a blessed virtue, but to cling to that at the expense of letting others carryout their murderous hatred upon the world is to blindly close ones mind to reality. peace, diplomacy, strategic negotiations and treaties didn't remove Hitler from europe. Only guns, bullets and the blood of those who know that true evil exists in our world and will never give up to stop it. only when all efforts to extend peace fail can war be justified and right. Great image, great message and God bless our troops who are giving everything (some all) to bring peace on earth and goodwill toward men.

Randee, The rating excellent doesn't even come close for this artwork. The impact of the piece is staggering! I have been going through your gallery and seeing all these beautiful, soft, delicate, images. Then I scroll down and this hits me like a slap in the face. This image speaks so dramatically! Blood runs down the centuries, we do not learn. Leanndra
