Description

Thanks to Pixar/Disney most of the people know anemone fish though they call it Nemo ;-) I found this Red Sea Anemone fish at the Umm Qamar reef around 10 meters depth. The colour scheme differs within anemone fishes and this variation can only be found at Red Sea. On this dive I was using Nikonos with extension tube and Ikonos strobo. I was hoping to get a shot also of small anemone fishes but no luck during this dive. The problem with close-up photography is that usually when you are prepared to get pictures of small things you'll see a whale shark or something else unexpected and BIG... and you have no ways to get it framed. A bit of digital touch has been done to the picture for cleaning the dust due to scanning. Thanks for finding Nemo!

This is wonderful underwater photography -- I love the way the fish stands out from the less colorful background.
