Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Lovely shot of rocks and the snow and moss in the crevices. Beautiful picture!

What seepage! They seem to be acid etched and leached by dissolved carbonates in limestone like in cave and sinkhole forming. Some force has heaved them way up to where you found them. Life clings to their wasted mass.

Impressive ! Looks like they have been melted,

clapping I LOVE this mountain!!!! It rocks!!! hehe! Stones are very special; they are God's reminder to us that he is our strength and he will take care of us (Psalms 18:31). I like rocks around me because they remind to let of of my stuff and give everything to God. A tiny stone in my pocket reminds me of this. i like to just feel it sometimes...that feeling can help me when i get worried. Hey, do you see all the animals in this...a turtle, an ox, a fish, a shark...careful where i put my foot...man he's got big teeth! You see them? I LOVE the texture of stones...to feel them. hug them. absorb their energy. They hum! Listen...can you hear them? Perfect compo, Jan-Carel, and set against that deep blue sky....sigh Vote!

Unusual and spectacular!! In french we call this "lapiat" and I love this kind of stones because they create really extraordinary sceneries. This shot is really really good!

I love this shot, Jan-Carel. The rocks are similar to lichen covered ones north of Cushendun, in Northern Ireland. There are old volcanoes close by.
