Description

Here is an improved version of a character study I posted recently. I was not satisfied with the lighting and the foliage on the tree. And since then, I received Vue 5... This is almost the same scene, with leaves from an Xfrog tree instead of a Vue tree. It was rendered with Global Illumination (same lights as the older version). The colors were enhanced directly at render time by Vue 5. Postwork include the depth of field effect (using the depth map created by Vue), additional texturing of the tree in photoshop (the 'vines' are coming from digital photograph of a tropical tree) and touch up of the eyes, hair and skin in Painter. The final scene was slightily enhanced by my usual photoshop filter (to sharpen the edges and spread out the colors). Now comparing the two versions, I even wonder why I posted the original one :) Thanks for watching :)

This one's a big improvement compared to the previous version. Bravo, Laurent! The only thing I liked more in the previous image is the metal mats used on the buckles and eyelets. Now the have a little bit too much reflection for my personal tast. Besides this it's perfect! :)))

Excellent. You are quite right the improvements are exceptional and the whole image is now most excellent. The xfrof leaves and your work on the bark textures is of particular note! Vote
