As coordinator (or un-coordinator as I am sometimes known) I extend a warm welcome, Patricia. You will find there is much to learn about Terragen - not much of it is easy, and we at this community are very good at helping each other. You picked a good viewpoint & played with a few settings, I can tell. Try a larger image - maybe 800 X 600 for starters - Good luck!

this image is lovely, love those colours you used...the terrain is very interesting and the water looks great...I have to add my two cents worth about the size thing, would LOVE to be able to see more detail on this image but my eyes just aint what they used to be! ;P lol from what I can see, you did an excellent job for your first image!
