Description

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This image is taken from the Newcastle Quayside looking across to the Baltic Art Centre. The armadillo-style building is Sir Norman Foster's Sage Music Centre, which has taken ten years of planning, and is due to open next month. It houses three main performance spaces, the largest seating 1650 people. The tiny specks on the roof are roped-up maintenance crew! I took several shots of them, and one of them will be my next upload "Nerves of Steel". Through the span of the Millennium Bridge you can see some of the other bridges which cross the River Tyne. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for looking, and for any comments, which I really appreciate. Another great Tyneside capture with wonderful reflections! What were those three men doing on top of that glass roof....cleaning or fixing a leak?!!!! It looks like a fantastic place, bet you'll be in there, as soons as it opens! Seems like there is a real concentration of culture on that Quayside! Well done!
Excellent capture of the bridge and the music centre. I love the shape of the building, It must be quite scary though to stand on top of it. I's rather sit inside and listen to music.:)
