Had to check your gallery, brcause I thought you doubled this up. I see it is quite different now. Would be nice to do a panorama of them and stitch it together. Bravo

I thank you your comments but I don't know how to make the panorama: there are still two evangelists to upload and they are in a circunferencial vault.

Beautiful again! Ah so these are statues of the four evangelists of the 4 Gospels?. If so, this is Mark I think... with the symbol of a calf / bull. John (eagle, Luke (Man) and Matthew (Lion)should be the others as they relate to the 4 faces of the heavenly seraphim (Revelation 4:6-8 & Ezekiel 1:10). This is quite a common set of symbols in Christian art.

I heartfully thank your comments again. Addiek, now you are making me doubt. In effect he is not St. Matthew, but it can't either be St. Mark, because his symbol is the lion. I think, now, it's St Lucas, though I believe hoe is usually represented without beard; this was what confussed me. Well, I expect and thank your comments to give to the image a definite title.
