I don't know why. This is compelling. Great job on capturing something I still can't describe. Lost dreams, hopes, inefficiency, corporate greed, etc. It speaks volumes. I suppose it's something a former roomate in college told me after a stint in Argentina: he'd just helped them upgrade to new equip that used 2 T water to make 1 T steel. At home, the best we could do was 16 T water per T steel and no one was interested in investing in the newer processes.... end result: very efficient foreign competition and photos like this.
