Mike and Linda Allison have been interested in fractals since 1994, when they bought their first computer. Mike's probably sorry he "discovered" them because he's seen very little of Linda in the past 12 years! :-)
They live in Florida, where Linda grew up, but miss their son, daughter-in-law, and grandbabies, all of whom live in Washington.
:-(
They console themselves by spinning colors and getting lost in the images!

Outstanding image. Very well done!

Lovely image! Like a crawling watercreature seen from underneath. Excellent!

It looks great to me! I never play with any of those things. Of course I don't have UF, so that does make a difference!lol q-: Lovely colors and details! V (:

Looks like an insect to me :) Great artwork ! Difference mode (for me) is sometimes a pain for the color control. But is works very well for your image :)

Beautifully Done!

IMHO strict symmetry is something to be avoided. It always has a fast attraction and one is very fast "satisfied" or bored by it. To find the little "mistakes" in an imperfect symmetry is much more interesting. Difference merge mode - I use it when I work with BW images. Or when I have a Hard Light layer on top that tames the colours that are out of control. Difference sometimes creates some kind of a dirty blue that I really dislike. Or an anti-3D effect where the middle is dark and the borders are shining. This is nothing for me too. BTW: it's not bad having a non-orange image in your gallery :-)

you've created a wonderful texture on your abstract symetryc fractal. I like this softbrushed metallic look. excellently done. RS

Wonderful creation Linda!!!!
VDH
Wonderful shapes and superb coloring! Great job!

Beautiful Hydroponics Linda! The plant looks vaguely familiar...coolness...I like symmetry!

Allthough I do not always use symmetry myself, I do love it. Therefor I like this work very much. Maybe Andreas is right that one is very fast satisfied or bored with it. But is that for the viewer or the creator? I do not like the little "mistakes" in my own work, and then I work as long as it takes to get the little mistakes undone and I find that a challenge to do! But viewing asymmetry in the work of someone else does not bother me and can be very beautiful. (Pfff am I difficult.. LOL) So appearantly opinions differ Linda, but one thing is for sure; everything that comes from your hand is really gorgeous!

I like the colors and the pattern and the symetric and the beautiful sharp render yes i like it all :-)) Cool job Linda Congrats

As the picutre was downloading, I thought also about an insect. The difference mode gave you an interesting and vibrant green. Definitely different from your usual style, but very beautiful, nontheless. Though assymetrical might make a more interesting composition, I don't see anything wrong with symmetry in an image. I enjoy both equally. :)

Love the colors, and I did think "Big Ole Bug" when I first saw the image (but in a "good way" lol) Kudos for getting the "difference" mode to work.. I try it regularly, but with very little success. Here you have bright, clean colors!
invidiosa
yes - it reminds me of the Alien, sort of - and yet it has a strong image of the green plant - wonderful work!

When difference mode is successful, it can give a beautiful liquid or glassy effect. This qualifies as a success!! I like this very much! Green is so difficult and this one is lovely.

And you rarely do images with no orange. :-) But this is beautiful. The symmetry is a lot of what I like about it, and the colors are perfect.

Well, from my point of view, your experiment is a success. I generally prefer asymmetry to symmetry, but once in awhile a symmetric design surfaces that blows me away. This is such a design, and I like the colors very much. The "difference" layer influence seems subtle, instead of heavy and overwhelming. I like the design, colors and lighting very much!

Great image, Linda! Love the symmetry! ( I'm more the type that doesn't care if it's symmetrical or not. As long as the image catches my eye!) Love the almost alien-like coloring!

Interesting departure from your usual style. It makes me think of a the rib cage of a grasshopper. =^,^=

enchanting metal dream.

Wonderful unique image! Nice work! :)

I don't know the cause, but this image does not have the depth I usually associate with one of yours. I hope I don't sound too harsh, because it is still a good picture.

VERY cool, Linda! Ok, so maybe I'm weird, but I get the sense of looking at the underside of a caterpillar. :?) Well done!
