Description

THE ISLAND (an Excerpt) by Judith Azrael I spot a great blue heron below me on the beach but when I look again it changes into a piece of driftwood and a tangle of dried kelp. A gull cries out. A skiff is heading for shore. The sea today is quiet...waves washing in gently...all claws retracted...withdrawn. I chop up a piece of cedar I find on the beach. The smell of sap. I run my hand along the cut. The wood is warm as flesh. It is morning. Waves flowing into shore. Two great blue heron stand motionless in the shallows...all long-legged and slender graceful necks. Below each of them in the water another heron wavers. Then island beyond island.

Beautifully composed, I can feel the soft surface of the wood in my fingers.

This one is a real beaut........ I have to check the earlier ones too, have not done so yet.......... well, once the image loads up and if you start scrolling from bottom to top.... this is what you get to see....... two pupply legs as it sleeps soundly..... scroll up and stop when you are 2/3rd done and you see a human face. the left side profile..... move up just a lil bit more..... where the wood takes the right turn... and u see a man jogging with heads down and the full image in view .... u see the heron. I enjoyed this image very much mate. So much food for thought and imagination. tytyty. This is what I was telling cynlee the other day........ the fact that I want to comment makes me look at the image more seriously and critically and that brings out the best in the image plus, I learn a lot in this process. I was never for abstraction........ life was too busy for that but now I have learnt the beauty of it. Especially from you mate..... I respect you as the best in this regard. So moral of the whole story......... Those that view..... take some time out to leave a comment.......... you will notice there is more to it than the eye can see...... :O))
