I wrote some web-site adresses in the text. You may refer to them to see that this animal is classified as a sort of non-webforming spider. You may check out the other photos in the prior episodes to compare with the photos at the given sites. I live in Ankara, the capital city of the Republic of Turkey. Though it is not a terrain with a strictly desert climate, the country is neighbour to Middle East, and a desert-like climate dominates in the summers. Also, the land at this region is a sparsely vegetated one. I was not expecting an animal of such to come to my window by coincidence, because I never thought that such a creature may be living in these areas. But, this is what happened... Though I searched in the plains many times for another encounter, I could not succeed... :)

I cannot express how much I loved these "spider in the jar" series. This has to the the scariest yet strangely enough one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen. "The Farewell" was rather emotional. It's funny how we gain attachment to things so quickly. Perhaps one day he will return to your window seeking shelter from a storm. But even though I love these pictures I hope one never turns up on mine! Thank you for sharing your story and your spider with me... Ps thanks for the sexy belly button comment:) -April Dawn

Yes, yes, yes!!! This is a sun spider! Bought one from a local pet store her in Pennsylvania USA a few years ago. They could tell me nothing about it. Just that their supplier sent it so they put it in a tank and sold it... to me! I loved it! It was the freakiest animal I ever had the pleasure of caring for. It was friendly and docile. I held it often (to the horror of those around me)! It loved to chew on the cardboard I had in its tank and it liked to dig in the sand. Unfortunately, it lasted only a few months because I had no knowledge of its natural habitat. I have never seen one since...
