Description

(an older piece and stroy set that I realized was not in my gallery here...hope you enjoy it it has 5 parts. Story by an old friend and artwork by me) Onyx Ironhoof looked up from the blazing forge, wiping the sweat from his glistening brow with the back of his weathered hand, and finally noticed the young, tall sorceror standing quietly beside him, smiling in the shimmering heat. "Hail old friend," the mage spoke softly. "Another long day at the forge I see." The old dwarf nodded wearily. "Aye, Thanos, it has been. We can't have these young un's wonderrin' aboot in simple leatherr tunics 'n prractice blades ta be o'errwhelmed by tha firrst mongbat what starrtles 'em now ken we?" Thanos smiled. "Aye, of course not my friend." "And what brrings yer herre at this late hourr old frriend?" "A message, good Onyx. A tale once of despair, now of hope." The old dwarf raised an eyebrow at this. "Now donna be castin' rriddles at me poorr old soul this hourr o' tha night, frriend. Be out with it!" Thanos pulled a worn book from the folds of his midnight cloak. "Recognize this my old friend?" Ironhoof's eyes glistened. "Aye, yer know I doo wise mage. Tis tha eulogy fer m'Lorrd Gorrmach vonLeal, tha one I spoke these moons ago when he . . . he . . . left us . . . ." The dwarven smith's voice trailed off as he remembered . . . remembered the kind and sage words for all those wise enough to listen at the Hammer and Anvil . . . . remembered how the "Old Bones" had taken a young, struggling smith under his wing and taught him the One True Path and made him a better smith, a better man . . . remembered the tales of Lord Gormach's silver blade slashing lich lords to ribbons while he laughed in glee at the vanquishing of the undead . . . remembered that awful morning when a spirit invaded his sleep and told him that Lord Gormach had slain his last lich . . . and was no more . . . . Thanos quietly gripped the old smith's shoulder, and Onyx's eyes opened. "Come old friend, come." "Wherre arre yer takin' me this hourr o' tha night lad?" Thanos smiled. "Just come."
