Description

A view from a moon the size of our Earth of a planet roughly between the size of Saturn and Jupiter, maybe a little larger. The inhabitants of the large planet are more technologically advanced than we are, and are noticably different in appearance from us, but are also quite similar and have developed in a similar fashion. The moon (foreground) is just beginning to host forms of life. This system is about 200 LY from our own, and have just discovered our system in a SETI program like our own. They are just as anxious to meet us as we are of them. This story, as of yet is bogus, but could, eventually, be proven true in some way shape or form. Astronomers have found, I think, between 150 and 160 planets and a couple of them might even be inhabited. If new life does contact us, the ramifications on our planet alone would be immence. We would, at that moment, know that we truely are not alone. This, as was predicted in some Sci-fi movie, could mean the end of wars, famines, and many other ills and ailments for our species. That would be a very good thing, though it might take just a bit o' time to happen. This picture was made with Terragen, LunarCell, and Kai's Power Tools, put together in Photoshop. Enjoy.

so true, almost anything is possible.. tough what i really am curious about, is if we would discover say 100 new species/civilisations, how many of those were capable of being classified as "humanoids". How usual it is in the universe to have organs similar to eyes and 2 transporation organs and 2 "arm-organs" etc, or if it truly is completely "chaotic" and random, will we discover insane creatures that have unimaginable shapes and methods of life, or are we all similar? What i'm getting at is this, is the humanoid shape the ultimate shape? The shape that all great species that form working civilisations will have evolved into? Or is it possible for an insect-like species to develop a true technical society? very interesting tought

I did say that the species on this planet were similar in appearence, but not all that similar. But it is a good point to bring up, that chaos theory applies to appearence of beings as well.
