Description

This is my monkey...This morning she was bit on her lip by my step granddads dog named Sassy... I havent ever been a dog person to begin with... then when my baby brother was 4 he was attacked by our neighbor's dog and had his cheek bit open... that made me dislike dogs more... and now to have my baby's lip bit and see her in pain and confused just upset me so much this morning... i thought i vent on here and share with all my friends i have made on renderosity... i dont want people to take me the wrong way though... i dont hate all dogs... but u can tell which dogs are mean or not good with people... those ones should have something done with them... i warned my granddad and gramma that he is too mean with the kids... but i was ignored and this happened... well thanks for viewing and listening to me vent... Maybe you have something in your genes that makes you smell bad to dogs, so they want to bite? I heard stories of people that always were not appreciated by dogs - if they wan not bitten, the dogs at least barked on them much more than on other people. It must be something in the sweat. Dogs perfectly feel when you are aggressive or afraid, them they may attack easier. From my side I always had perfect relations with all animals, including dogs - I was never afraid to pet even strange and big dogs, and they were almost always OK with me. Only once a "dog mum" bite me in hand - I was playing with her little puppy - she seemed OK, she was quietly watching us play, then she came (also quietly) without any barking or snarling, and bite my hand :-)) Maybe she find that it was enough of playing with her child :-)) As it was an ownerless dog (it was in Algeria) I had to take antirabic vaccination but it did not change my attitude towards dogs - I love them all :-))) Just remember that we, humans, are the pest of this world - if you compare what we are doing to all animals, so those few bites from some dogs or other animals are simply nothing

If you hate dogs, they will hate you... If you love dogs, they will love you too... - I always loved dogs, and NEVER did any dog worldwide make me any harm. So all depends on you... If you sow hate, you will get hate, if you sow love, you will get love...

this is an unfortunate incident but dont let your dislike of dogs change your little girls feelings torward them. dogs sense fear and will use that against a person. yes there are some dogs that are just mean but that doesnt mean something should be done with them (whatever that might mean). personally I would take an animal over a person but thats just me. I hope your little one heals fast and is not in pain.

Ahh Alora has good experiences with Angel, I just watched her dog Angel dancing with her and the other girls..just like a little ballerina. Some dogs aren't approachable, and others are..she needs to be taught that. She's only 3..and already learning the hard way. Dang.

I was mauled as a small child. All the way up and down my right side. Today I have 2 German shepherds. Before that I had a Great Dane and a Chow for 14 and 12 years respectively. Please dont let your fear of dogs and this incident cause a life of fear for your daughter. Your reaction will scar her far more than what I see in this picture. The dog didnt bite her. A bite would have had opposing puncture wounds and there would be several. Im not saying that the dog shouldnt be restrained when your daughter is around her. Please understand me. I would not allow my dogs around a 3-year-old child unsupervised. They might hurt her just playing with her; I know theyve hurt me with tooth and claw, just playing. But they are mans best friend and they WILL nurture and protect a child. I was mauled as a child but one also saved me. Our family dog, a St. Bernard mix picked me up by my diaper and brought me home one day when I had wandered out of the yard unobserved and had gone out into a busy street. If you give the right dog a chance at the right time your daughter could develop a friendship that could teach her lessons that would serve her well her entire life. (Sorry for the rant. You have a beautiful daughter.)
