Description

UF3 and PS Hey Caroline, look!!! I made something with that crazy program!! Not a forty dollar fractal, but its' something!! You know, when I was a kid, I had a lump of fools gold. I thought it was real gold. I loved that pretty shiny thing. I felt so rich and special...well, someone had to tell me that it was fools gold. You know, I STILL loved that rock. I STILL felt rich and special. It was just as beautiful to me as real gold, though worthless to someone else. I know sometimes it seems that the world today has said that alot of people are worthless, and not worthy of esteem. Not pretty because they don't have "high value". Sometimes the most worthless and ignored things are the most beautiful and special to people with innocent eyes. People... I don't want anyone as a friend who can't see that. Do you? I don't want to be like that either. In fact, I REFUSE!! I called this "Fools Gold" because to some, it isn't much, but to me, well, I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning 'cuz I finally made something with this dumb program, and I love it!!!...lol!!! I hope at least someone can relate.

A very beautiful fractal at that! All these programs are frustrating untill you "crack the nut". Someone gave me a Mexican peso when I was little. I had it for a long time- I thought it was so special because it came from a different country. Yeah, it didn't matter it was only worth a buck or so- it was from some exotic country (LOL). How many 40 dollar fractals can you buy for a peso, anyway?

Nothing foolish about this image. The only trouble is, when you start making images like this the crazy program sucks you in and doesn't let go

I laughed and I cried when I read your post. I can relate...in life as well as in art. You have created here, a wonderful tapestry filled with beauty and the joy of "getting it". I never could get UF to play nice,so you get to go to the head of the class!!!!!

Randee, I think you have summed it up for all of us! Since I started working with UF, I've loved it, but most of my images are special to only me -- and you know what -- that's OK. Your image, on the other hand, is GORGEOUS! PURE gold! Thank you.

Looks to me like an amazingly graceful and beautifully colored autumn meadow, complete with Queen Anne's Lace, Randee! This glows magically with that last dimming fire of late autumn and has about it a sense of the graceful passage of seasons. The forms are pleasantly harmonious and flowing and the gradient is perfect. This image is gold for any fool to see (= Glad you are liking UF; it is an amazing program for capabilities and an addictive outlet for creativity. For what it's worth, I agree with you - all things have value, whether we appreciate it (which we should)or not (which we too often do). Outstanding and beautifully evocative work!!!

Beautiful image Randee! I think most of the time the people that are held in our society as of "high value" are the fool's gold. And it's the precious people like you of the world that are real gold! Love ya hon! Great work!
