Description
Fujifilm Finepix,Paint shop Pro9,This photo was taken in the Rivertown where the merchants where set up at the Historic Mississinewa Battlefield, about 15 miles where I live.It was hard to get good photos because over 10,000 people a day go though there over the three days of the re-enactment.I have family and friends that take place in the battlefield showing there tribute to there familys of the past of the Miami and Delaware Indians. The Battle Of Mississinewa was one of the major engagements fought during the War of 1812.The battle was fought on December17-18,1812.The two-day engagement had cost the lives of 12 federal troops and another 48 had been wounded. As many as 45 Indians may have died in the two days of conflict defending their lands.A permanent tribute to the soldiers ,Miami and Delaware Indians who fought the battle tombststones where placed for each inscribed memorials was estastablished in 1988.
The litte boy in the picture played the sweetest music that I have ever heard, his talent was so far beyond words!*Leda
