Description

Suddenly, a dark shape loomed over the young girl. "Tell me," the stranger said, "didn't anybody ever tell you that it's not safe in these woods? Surely you have heard rumors of the wild beast that haunts these grounds?" "Yes," she replied, proud that her voice did not betray her unease. "But that's what they are... rumors, aren't they? Nobody has ever seen this 'beast'." "Seen it and lived to tell the tale, you mean." The stranger chuckled softly. "What is your name, maiden?" "Cheyene, but they call me Red Riding Hood, and you are him, aren't you, the one they call Le Loup Garou! I am not afeared of you!" She lifted her head in defiance. Slowly, the stranger exposed his teeth in a wolfish grin. "Ah, but you should be, my sweetling, you should indeed!" Tenderly, he caressed her cheek with the back of his index finger, and she couldn't suppress a shiver. "You know what they say, that a dog's bark is worse than its bite... it's not true. Believe me," he bent closer to the girl, "my bite is all they say - and so much more. So very much more!" ------- Cheyene, from the ABC Trio by Debbie M. Thank you so much, this one's for you! Beautiful illustration!!, it is carried out with an interesting concept, you manage the sources of lights that they believe the fair climate very well.
