Texture layers
Many layers with several UFM's like Pixel.
Several mask layers of the base fractal with alpha channel on used as masks for the textures.

UCLPainter's Traps by mt and tma (beta)
UXF'sDisturb It by akl (code from the PCB T31 UCL)
Frame Hope by akl (beta)
Rotation and Shift by akl (beta) for the correct position in Frame Hope.
Frame 2 (the thin line based on PDD's frames)

UCLPolygonal gradient by sam
UXFDisturb It by akl

I hope you can enjoy this image as much as I had fun creating it.
I originally had not planned to create an image but only to test some of the code that works as a transformation within my UCLs as a stand-alone transformation. And I wanted to see the difference between code in a UXF and the same code working as a transformation in a UCL.
The difference is huge. A UXF changes the base shape of a spiral - it even can hide the spiral character as you can see above. The same code within a UCL preserves the spiral base shape but changes the shapes within the spiral. The spiral itself does not loose its infinite characteristics. A next point will be to integrate this code into a UFM. Like in fBm Julia by dmj there will be the next great difference.

really looks like an exotic wood that is favored for fine woodworking. do ot recall the name but my brother-in-law used it before. I was taken back by your list of credits. I thought I had went to some other page. they are very clear and concise. nobody should get confused over who the credit belongs to. excellent work, I am happy to view your work!!!!

Although I don't understand the technicality of what you did, this is a beautiful spiral with rich texture and color and very pleasing to my eyes.

Intersting what you tell about the UCL...The image itself is interesting too, and beautifully colored only it lacks definiton (imho) by being packed so ful of textures in nearly the same color...But story and image make for a worthwile package deal!

The texture is so fascinating - colorwise and detailwise. I can even see small and beautiful hieroglyphs :) However, I tend to agree with fractalchemist concerning the definition of the shape.

Technical details aside, this spiral looks to have weathered a long life and has been shaped by time and tide. The T Pure Color-By in the public database allows me to change the shapes within a spiral to good effect. The X & Y Wave Mode along with the broad range of coordinate settings and Turnaround Mode create a multitude of forms.

Wow! Those textures are awesome! I want to reach out and touch this one. It does remind me of a weathered wooden frieze or something like that. Thanks for sharing the technical details, too. Incredible job! :o) V

Andreas, I give up! I could never even hope to achieve anything this incredible. But I have to have those formulas to Try!!! LOL!! My God, this is a masterpiece-- How do I vote twice? And I can still see the spiral but it has been truly transformed. I want to see this HUGE!

I use transformations verrrrrry sparingly for that reason, they have such a strong and overall effect. Since most of my work is an attempt to subtly change what I am seeing, strong effects are sometimes overwhelming. I always enjoy viewing the work of someone who works so differently from me and I admire someone who can tame all this strength! This is a striking image, very appealing, with your amazing touch for texture and lighting. :)
