The landscape in the backgrond is okay, but you should have some more hills close up, it looks kinda odd when the ground is flat everywhere except in the background. Also, the mountain range could use some more height variation.

Hi Bobby. No time off, just a week end. Sometimes I need it : to create a 3d picture. 3d is very addictive, you know that. Hope you're going well. To answer Askguden, I aknowledge that my skills at LW are still imperfect. It takes a long time to understand a software. LW is not a landscape generator, like terragen, so, unless I get the skills of the guy that post recently a lanscape with cliff and lake, my LW landscapes will always look imperfect. Using terragen background is not always possible, because of the 3d/perspective distortion resulting after superimposing different 3d scenes. Anyway, I still have a lot to work. I appreciate the critics by the way, Askguden, not just the flattery. For the landscape/background, I don't see an easy answer. I think LW needs a plugin to either integrate terragen scenes 3D accuratly, OR a plugin to generate fractal-derived details and time-friendly volumetric to generate Terragen quality background.

Actually the landscape looks fine. It looks like a large crater on the surface of the planet with the base right in the middle. Interesting scene, gets my mind thinking about SciFi again. Good work.

I like it. :o) My only critique would be on the geodesic dome. There's a lot of design details out on Buckminister Fuller's original design, it might help increase the overall realism of the render to even out the detailing.

Yes the base is in a flat crater bottom. It's still lacks details. That's the basic of a good picture : details details details and more details. Usually I try to hide that by using lots of fog and volumetric. appropriate in a dusty planet. I am going to recalculate the all picture with fogs and volumetric light. It's gona be long. Thanks for feed back.
